The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Johnson Poe struck a weak shot in the 4th minute. Mervin Valle didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Wesleyville. German Downs's late challenge caught a Wesleyville's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. German Downs helped the player get up and apologised. In the 6th match minute, Zebulon AFC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by German Downs to maneuver through the defense. The Wesleyville fans' excitement grew in the 8th match minute when Wesleyville's Johnson Poe looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 0-1 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. Mervin Valle showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Johnson Poe in the 13th minute of the match. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Johnson Poe during the 15th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. Johnson Poe hit a great freekick 15 minutes into the match. Garth Walden sent away a hard shot on goal in the 18th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Mervin Valle stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Johnson Poe's shot from short distance in the 20th minute. 30 minutes into the match, Zebulon AFC's goal looked a bit too open when Garth Walden came free, but Mervin Valle reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Jarvis Lyon made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Sherwood Donaldson in the 33rd minute of play. If Jonathan Jones had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 34th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 37 minutes into the match, Wesleyville's goalkeeper Jarvis Lyon had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Jonathan Jones. 39 minutes into the match, Zebulon AFC's goal looked a bit too open when Johnson Poe came free, but Mervin Valle reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. An unexpected shot in the 40th minute by Jonathan Jones got the crowd on their feet, but to their dismay it went out on the left side. Jarvis Lyon showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Sherwood Donaldson in the 43rd minute of the match. Denis Platt kicked well hit freekick during the 46th minute of the match. The fans had the chance to grab some refreshments as the whistle went for half-time. The score stood at 1-1 after a close first half.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Sherwood Donaldson to make the kick off. In the 51st minute Waldo Ricks shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Mervin Valle saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After 52 played minutes Zebulon AFC got a freekick which was hit by Denis Platt. Garth Walden struck a weak shot in the 53rd minute. Mervin Valle didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Wesleyville. Johnson Poe received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 55th minute. Mervin Valle tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 60th minute, German Downs hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Johnson Poe could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 64th minute of the match, but Mervin Valle made a huge save. The audience thought a goal was coming when Johnson Poe got free with Mervin Valle in the 69th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. When Jonathan Jones, who was free, got the in front of the goal in the 81 minute he wasn't focused and tipped the ball just over the goal. The Jarvis Lyon was delighted since the ball would have got in if it had gone under the crossbar. Wesleyville's Johnson Poe got a good chance for a goal in the 84th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Garth Walden received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 88th minute. Mervin Valle tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After 89 minutes, Denis Platt mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Zebulon AFC and the Wesleyville players grew even worse after the yellow card. Denis Platt kicked well hit freekick during the 89th minute of the match. Jarvis Lyon showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Jonathan Jones, who was totally free with the ball in the 93rd minute. Neither set of supporters seemed pleased with the draw, but both teams had played equally well today.
