The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Christian Adams scored 0-1 in the 28th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Christian Sorenson, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Clint Mason recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 37th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. After some fancy dribbling in the 39th minute, Lance George managed to get in a good position for a shot. Real SoCal's supporters rose to their feet, but Lance George was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Giuseppe McAlpin breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. With a little luck, Metasoccer's Giuseppe McAlpin got control of the ball when Clint Mason tried to sneak it across the goal line. Christian Adams kicked well hit freekick during the 43rd minute of the match. The supporters of Metasoccer booed when Real SoCal was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 45 match minutes in a wonderful position. Cody Lin didn't get a good kick on the ball. Waylon Walker received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 46th minute. Christian Sorenson tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. The Real SoCal players were disheartened as they walked off the pitch after the first half. Metasoccer were winning 0-1.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Clint Mason stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Ronny Kessler was slow to take the kick. During this time Real SoCal's players had a chance to rest. Ronny Kessler made a great header on Real SoCal's corner, it was just that Metasoccer's Giuseppe McAlpin managed to reach the ball for a save. Christian Sorenson stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Christian Adams's shot from short distance in the 81st minute. Christian Sorenson made a fantastic save in the 84th minute, when Waylon Walker sent off a good shot on target. In the 84th minute, Cody Lin hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After 93 minutes of play, Real SoCal's Cody Lin made it 1-2 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Giuseppe McAlpin was left in no man's land by his defense there! 96 minutes into the match, Metasoccer's Ernesto Billings sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Christian Sorenson narrowly saved just below the crossbar. The Metasoccer supporters could be heard counting down the last seconds of the match. They errupted in celebration when the whistle blew, knowing Metasoccer would go home with victory in their luggage after a match that easily could have ended differently.
