The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. After a rather tough play, Burlingame FC's Wilbur Rollins got a free kick in the 4th minute. Garth Rader came free with the goalkeeper in the 5th minute of the match, and shot straight on target. The shot was a little too simple and Jeremy Epps could save by the left post. Sedona AFC's Juan Glenn played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Craig Curtis in the 9th minute of play. If Gilberto Barton had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 17th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. When the match clock showed 19 minutes, the score became 0-2 when Gilberto Barton sped through Sedona AFC's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Juan Glenn. If Craig Curtis had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 23rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 27th minute Craig Curtis shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Juan Glenn saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Juan Glenn showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Craig Curtis in the 29th minute of the match. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Burlingame FC reached it. Juan Glenn stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Craig Curtis's shot from short distance in the 38th minute. Juan Glenn took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Gilberto Barton, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Arnold Hoff kicked well hit freekick during the 42nd minute of the match. If Gilberto Barton had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 45th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. An unexpectedly hard shot by Craig Curtis in the 47th minute of play forced Sedona AFC's goalkeeper Juan Glenn to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Disappointed in the 0-2 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.

Gilberto Barton might have been able to make a better finish in the 53rd minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Juan Glenn. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Gilberto Barton ran back to his position shaking his head. Juan Glenn showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Craig Curtis in the 54th minute of the match. After having played for 57 minutes, Craig Curtis managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Burlingame FC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Craig Curtis was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. In the 58th match minute, Sedona AFC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Wade Sexton to maneuver through the defense. Craig Curtis sent away a hard shot on goal in the 59th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Gilberto Barton could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 61st minute of the match, but Juan Glenn made a huge save. Garth Rader sent away a hard shot on goal in the 63rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. 68 minutes into the match, Sedona AFC's Ignacio Myles sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Jeremy Epps narrowly saved just below the crossbar. After 69 played minutes Burlingame FC got a freekick which was hit by Al Galloway. When Burlingame FC's Craig Curtis in the 78th minute got a chance for a shot 78th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Sedona AFC's goalie prevented a goal. Ignacio Myles fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 80th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Jeremy Epps having to interfere. Juan Glenn came out of the goal in the 91st minute to try and stop a shot by Burlingame FC's Gilberto Barton. But to his dismay, Gilberto Barton quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-3. If Gilberto Barton had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 96th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. When the match was over Burlingame FC could go home with a victory in their luggage, having controlled the game far better than Sedona AFC throughout the match.
