In the 6th minute Sydney Marion shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Rupert Crane saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After some fancy dribbling in the 8th minute, Rufus McIntyre managed to get in a good position for a shot. Taylor Mill's supporters rose to their feet, but Rufus McIntyre was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Rupert Crane breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Rufus McIntyre sent away a hard shot on goal in the 12th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Doug Herbert during the 15th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. A collision led to Alpha FC getting a freekick after 15 minutes play. Doug Herbert hit a great ball. 17 minutes into the match, Taylor Mill's goal looked a bit too open when Alfonzo Borden came free, but Denver Hahn reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 26th minute, Rufus McIntyre ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Rupert Crane was frozen by the shot and now it was 0-1. After some careless play in the Taylor Mill defense, Rashad Godwin kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Denver Hahn. The Taylor Mill fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Denver Hahn should have stopped the shot. Doug Herbert got his second yellow card in the match during the 31st minute which meant that he had to leave the ground. The supporters of Taylor Mill booed when Alpha FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 32 match minutes in a wonderful position. Doug Herbert didn't get a good kick on the ball. After some fancy dribbling in the 36th minute, Rufus McIntyre managed to get in a good position for a shot. Taylor Mill's supporters rose to their feet, but Rufus McIntyre was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Rufus McIntyre might have been able to make a better finish in the 45th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Rupert Crane. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Rufus McIntyre ran back to his position shaking his head. The score stood at 1-1 when the half time whistle went. Both sets of players seemed reasonably pleased with how the match was going.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Sydney Marion to strike the kick off in the second half. Rufus McIntyre fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 60th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Rupert Crane having to interfere. If Sydney Marion had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 75th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. A collision led to Taylor Mill getting a freekick after 76 minutes play. Rufus McIntyre hit a great ball. Alpha FC's Rupert Crane played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Sydney Marion in the 79th minute of play. Rufus McIntyre succeeded to score despite a near miss that spronge from right pole into the goal to 1-2 in the 87th playminute. In the 97th minute, Rufus McIntyre got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. When the match was over Taylor Mill could go home with a victory in their luggage, having controlled the game far better than Alpha FC throughout the match.
