Darin Teague showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Gregory Fugate, who was totally free with the ball in the 27th minute. In the 30th minute Rob Crocker shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Vern Shipman saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Darin Teague took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Geraldo Rodriquez, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 34th minute, Geraldo Rodriquez made a precise shot to the right of Darin Teague. Weimar FC's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 0-2. Wyatt Hendrix could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 38th minute of the match, but Vern Shipman made a huge save. Darin Teague made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Geraldo Rodriquez in the 39th minute of play. The crowd was extremely unhappy with the home team's performance in the first half. Darin Teague was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. The audience was convinced that Rob Crocker's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Vern Shipman was relentless in the 97th minute of the game.
