In the 16thth minute of the game Elias Dobbins who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Birmingham FC's Paul Flynn was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. The audience thought a goal was coming when Gary Hurley got free with Bronson Harris in the 18th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. 22 minutes into the game, Elias Dobbins cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 0-1. Paul Flynn was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Bronson Harris made a fantastic save in the 31st minute, when Gary Hurley sent off a good shot on target. An unexpectedly hard shot by Arnoldo Goss in the 32nd minute of play forced Birmingham FC's goalkeeper Paul Flynn to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After 33 played minutes Burien AFC got a freekick which was hit by Cason Egan. Through an outstanding action, after 40 minutes, Bronson Harris successfully got his hands on the ball before it slid into the goal at the right post. In the 41st minute, Darrel Clifton hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. The fans had the chance to grab some refreshments as the whistle went for half-time. The score stood at 1-1 after a close first half.

Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Shawn Roper in the 83rd minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Bronson Harris prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Shawn Roper received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 85th minute. When the match had gone on for 91 minutes, Shawn Roper put it in 2-2 from a short distance just to the right of Bronson Harris.
