Spectators: 35 (Terracing: 27, Seating: 8, VIP seats: 0) Randolph Hough started the match with the kick off in front of an excited audience. Benito Strong kicked well hit freekick during the 5th minute of the match. An unexpectedly hard shot by Randolph Hough in the 6th minute of play forced Lake Providence's goalkeeper Freddy Edwards to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Randolph Hough received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 7th minute. Freddy Edwards tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After a rather tough play, Atlanta United FC's Hal Harrison got a free kick in the 14th minute. Chad Lackey sent away a hard shot on goal in the 20th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 21st minute, Gabriel Rivers made a precise shot to the right of Del Pennington. Atlanta United FC's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 1-0. In the 25th minute, Jayson Billings hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 26th minute, Jimmy Curran sent off a long shot on goal, but the shot was nowhere near the goal and Atlanta United FC's Del Pennington didn't even have to move. Chad Lackey recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 30th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. In the 36th minute, Chad Lackey got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. The referee blew the whistle for a penalty in the 38th minute of the game. One of Atlanta United FC:s players had nearly got his shirt torn off by an opponent while getting free in front of Lake Providence:s goal. The goalkeeper, Del Pennington, was totally fooled by Lake Providence's Jimmy Curran, who 39 minutes into the game made a penalty shot that went in on the goalkeeper's left side. In the 42nd minute, Gabriel Rivers got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. After 47 played minutes, Lake Providence's Rufus Peachey shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Del Pennington came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Lake Providence reached it. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Chad Lackey to make the kick off. Hal Harrison sent away a hard shot on goal in the 51st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. An unexpectedly hard shot by Chad Lackey in the 53rd minute of play forced Atlanta United FC's goalkeeper Del Pennington to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 56 minutes into the match, Chad Lackey notched a goal, 3-0, to the right of Atlanta United FC's Del Pennington. Del Pennington was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Chad Lackey in the 61st minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Del Pennington prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Del Pennington made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Gabriel Rivers in the 63rd minute of play. Del Pennington showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Chad Lackey in the 64th minute of the match. If Gabriel Rivers had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 67th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. When Lake Providence's Gabriel Rivers in the 70th minute got a chance for a shot 70th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Atlanta United FC's goalie prevented a goal. If Gabriel Rivers had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 74th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 76th minute, Gabriel Rivers got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Chad Lackey sent away a hard shot on goal in the 77th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Randolph Hough was really disappointed when he shot the ball just outside the right post instead of scoring a goal in the 84th minute. Atlanta United FC's manager could be seen on the sidelines shaking his head and muttering to himself as his team had just wasted another chance. A collision led to Atlanta United FC getting a freekick after 90 minutes play. Jayson Billings hit a great ball. 96 minutes into the match, Atlanta United FC's goal looked a bit too open when Chad Lackey came free, but Del Pennington reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line.
