An unexpectedly hard shot by Roscoe Newman in the 4th minute of play forced Granville AFC's goalkeeper Hugo Dawson to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Hugo Dawson made an important save on a dangerous shot by Zachary Dietz in the 9th minute. Garrett Milligan charged in rather forcefully in the 11th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Garrett Milligan the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. The referee blew the whistle for a penalty in the 10th minute of the game. One of Culpeper FC:s players had nearly got his shirt torn off by an opponent while getting free in front of Granville AFC:s goal. The referee gave Granville AFC a penalty, 12 minutes into the game. The penalty shot was made by Whitney Pennington, who made a well placed shot into the net to the right of Culpeper FC's Ricardo Cronin. 0-1. If Woody Hickey had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 20th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 22 minutes into the game, J.C. Denne cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 0-2. Ricardo Cronin was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. In the 28th match minute, Culpeper FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Casey Whitten to maneuver through the defense. 32 minutes into the game, Trenton Marino was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Granville AFC's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Culpeper FC the free kick. In the 32nd minute, Trenton Marino hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 33rd minute of the match Dale Craft sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Hugo Dawson skillfully saved the ball. Through an outstanding action, after 39 minutes, Hugo Dawson successfully got his hands on the ball before it slid into the goal at the right post. An unexpectedly hard shot by Woody Hickey in the 40th minute of play forced Culpeper FC's goalkeeper Ricardo Cronin to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The crowd rose to their feet as Culpeper FC's Zachary Dietz slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Hugo Dawson. That made the score 1-2 after 41 minutes of play. The crowd rose to their feet as Quintin McPherson kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Hugo Dawson. That made the score 2-2 in the 44 minute of play. The fans had the chance to grab some refreshments as the whistle went for half-time. The score stood at 2-2 after a close first half.

The wind increased when J.C. Denne made the kick off in the second half. 51 minutes into the match, Granville AFC's goal looked a bit too open when Benjamin Montes came free, but Hugo Dawson reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. J.C. Denne could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 52nd minute of the match, but Ricardo Cronin made a huge save. Ricardo Cronin showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Woody Hickey, who was totally free with the ball in the 54th minute. In the 68th minute Roscoe Newman shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Hugo Dawson saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Bernie Kenney kicked well hit freekick during the 69th minute of the match. If Benjamin Montes had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 71st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 73rd minute, Jerrod Magee hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. J.C. Denne recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 75th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Hugo Dawson took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Roscoe Newman, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Hugo Dawson made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Quintin McPherson in the 85th minute of play. The audience thought a goal was coming when J.C. Denne got free with Ricardo Cronin in the 87th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. When the match had gone on for 88 minutes, Woody Hickey took a quick shot and it went in 2-4 without a chance for Ricardo Cronin to make any attempt to save it. A collision led to Culpeper FC getting a freekick after 92 minutes play. Dale Craft hit a great ball.
