The crowd rose to their feet as Todd Toth kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Dave Sito. That made the score 1-0 in the 10 minute of play. Todd Toth's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Dave Sito read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 14th minute of play. The supporters of Pacific Grove booed when Steel City SC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 19 match minutes in a wonderful position. Frank Busby didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 21st minute, Cliff Countess left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Steel City SC fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 1-1. Todd Toth received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 25th minute. Gordon Lemon showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Cliff Countess, who was totally free with the ball in the 43rd minute. The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Cliff Countess was the one to do the kick off. After some fancy dribbling in the 51st minute, Everett De La Cruz managed to get in a good position for a shot. Pacific Grove's supporters rose to their feet, but Everett De La Cruz was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Dave Sito breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. After having played for 55 minutes, Todd Toth managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Pacific Grove's supporters crossed their fingers, but Todd Toth was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. 58 minutes into the game, Todd Toth cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 3-1. Dave Sito was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. If Todd Toth had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 61st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Gordon Lemon showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Cliff Countess in the 64th minute of the match. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Cliff Countess in the 65th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Gordon Lemon saved Pacific Grove from getting behind. Jarrett Singleton's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Gordon Lemon read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 67th minute of play. 67 minutes into the game, Louie Neal was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Pacific Grove's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Steel City SC the free kick. In the 68th match minute, Pacific Grove was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Louie Neal to maneuver through the defense. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Pacific Grove reached it. Brent Rodgers fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 76th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Dave Sito having to interfere. Pacific Grove's supporters were highly satisfied with the result. They cheered their team of the pitch, having watched them win a very even match.
