Seating: 8, VIP seats: 0) The sun was shining, the grass was green and the audience cheered when Cason Baker got the match started through his kick off. A collision led to Saginaw getting a freekick after 2 minutes play. Richard Corbin hit a great ball. The Saginaw fans' excitement grew in the 12th match minute when Saginaw's Kelly Berry looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 1-0 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. In the 15th minute, Chris Harrington hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Kelly Berry kicked well hit freekick during the 16th minute of the match. In the 22nd minute Teddy Scott shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Cory Pope saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Nathan Taylor sent away a hard shot on goal in the 24th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Kelly Berry received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 26th minute. Ethan Earl tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Cory Pope made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Barry Gillespie in the 33rd minute of play. 35 minutes into the match, Nathan Taylor had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Cory Pope. Saginaw's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Nathan Taylor was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 1-1. Saginaw's Cory Pope played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Nathan Taylor in the 39th minute of play. 41 minutes into the match, Rupert's goal looked a bit too open when Cason Baker came free, but Ethan Earl reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Cason Baker sent away a hard shot on goal in the 43rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Shane Willett's late challenge caught a Saginaw's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Without hesitation aimed to the right of Cory Pope, who managed to lunge to the right direction and made a save. If Teddy Scott had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 56th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Kelly Berry fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 62nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Ethan Earl having to interfere. After 65 minutes, Barry Gillespie mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Rupert and the Saginaw players grew even worse after the yellow card. After some careless play in the Rupert defense, Kelly Berry kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Ethan Earl. The Rupert fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Ethan Earl should have stopped the shot. Ethan Earl showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Cason Baker in the 73rd minute of the match. Kelly Berry sent away a hard shot on goal in the 75th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Kelly Berry might have been able to make a better finish in the 77th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Ethan Earl. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Kelly Berry ran back to his position shaking his head. Cason Baker sent away a hard shot on goal in the 79th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. A hard shot 85 in the game by Nathan Taylor from a close distance when the talented Cory Pope managed to make a qualified save. Saginaw's players were relieved. Cory Pope showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Teddy Scott, who was totally free with the ball in the 97th minute. Saginaw's fans were exulted and cheered after their team won in a match that could easily have gone the other way.
