Iowa AFC's Josh Clayton played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Derrick Robles in the 19th minute of play. Leonard Baldwin didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Sung Tyson went, in the 23rd minute, to the upper right corner, 0-2 was the resulting score. When Rupert McGowan fell near the penalty area in the 27th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Rancho Palos Verdes FC's protests and gave Rupert McGowan a yellow card for diving instead. In the 27th minute, Rupert McGowan hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After 27 played minutes, Iowa AFC's Dale Arellano shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Leonard Baldwin came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Iowa AFC reached it. In the 30th minute Sanford Beard shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Leonard Baldwin saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The supporters of Iowa AFC booed when Rancho Palos Verdes FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 33 match minutes in a wonderful position. Kerry Comer didn't get a good kick on the ball. Leonard Baldwin didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Sanford Beard went, in the 35th minute, to the upper right corner, 0-3 was the resulting score. 42 minutes in the game, Derrick Robles fired away an excellent shot, which passed to the side of the right post without Josh Clayton having to interfere. When Sanford Beard came up free with the goalie in the 47th minute, the Iowa AFC fans jumped to their feet. Luck had favoured the away team in the first, and they walked off with a 0-3 lead.

Sung Tyson received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 51st minute. Leonard Baldwin tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Iowa AFC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Sung Tyson was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Leonard Baldwin was a little too slow when Sung Tyson got a fine hit on the ball which went right into the goal in the 86th minute. The score was now 0-4. Josh Clayton took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Cyrus Griggs, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. A collision led to Rancho Palos Verdes FC getting a freekick after 92 minutes play. Eric Dugan hit a great ball. Ronnie Salazar kicked well hit freekick during the 95th minute of the match.
