An unexpectedly hard shot by Brent Currie in the 5th minute of play forced Captain America's goalkeeper Kermit Buckley to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The supporters of Bennettsville booed when Captain America was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 12 match minutes in a wonderful position. Carson Nicholson didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the last second Tommy Vogel throw himself and got hold of the ball when Ignacio Sims in the 15thth minute from his position got away a shot towards the right post. After a defensive mix-up in Bennettsville's zone, Ignacio Sims stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Tommy Vogel came out of the goal and Ignacio Sims tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. If Donny Hart had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 19th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After some fancy dribbling in the 21st minute, Ron Guidry managed to get in a good position for a shot. Captain America's supporters rose to their feet, but Ron Guidry was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Tommy Vogel breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Brent Currie fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 23rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Kermit Buckley having to interfere. After some careless play in the Captain America defense, Brent Currie kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Kermit Buckley. The Captain America fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Kermit Buckley should have stopped the shot. If Brent Currie had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 29th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Donny Hart received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 31st minute. Kermit Buckley tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After a rather tough play, Captain America's Carson Nicholson got a free kick in the 32nd minute. 33 minutes into the match, Captain America's goal looked a bit too open when Brent Currie came free, but Kermit Buckley reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. When Ron Guidry came up free with the goalie in the 36th minute, the Captain America fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Ron Guidry couldn't finish the play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Donny Hart in the 38th minute of play forced Captain America's goalkeeper Kermit Buckley to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 40 minutes into the match, Captain America's goal looked a bit too open when Donny Hart came free, but Kermit Buckley reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. The audience was convinced that Ignacio Sims's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Tommy Vogel was relentless in the 41st minute of the game. Kermit Buckley took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Donny Hart, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. That was the end of his participation in the match. 59 minutes into the match, Captain America's goalkeeper Kermit Buckley had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Brent Currie. The supporters of Captain America booed when Bennettsville was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 64 match minutes in a wonderful position. Donny Hart didn't get a good kick on the ball. Tommy Vogel stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Ron Guidry's shot from short distance in the 66th minute.
