Wilton Stoddard stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Clark Woodson's shot from short distance in the 9th minute. After 11 played minutes FC Barcelona got a freekick which was hit by Val Koenig. In the 13thth minute of the game Julio Peachey who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but FC Barcelona's Wilton Stoddard was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Clark Woodson received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 16th minute. Wilton Stoddard tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 19th minute Julio Peachey shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Wilton Stoddard saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 20th match minute, FC Barcelona was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Val Koenig to maneuver through the defense. Clark Woodson might have been able to make a better finish in the 24th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Wilton Stoddard. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Clark Woodson ran back to his position shaking his head. After some fancy dribbling in the 25th minute, Von Carbajal managed to get in a good position for a shot. Burlingame Football Club's supporters rose to their feet, but Von Carbajal was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Alfonzo Hearn's late challenge caught a Burlingame Football Club's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Alfonzo Hearn helped the player get up and apologised. Alfonzo Hearn kicked well hit freekick during the 43rd minute of the match. After 45 minutes, Thanh Charles mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the FC Barcelona and the Burlingame Football Club players grew even worse after the yellow card. In the 46th match minute, FC Barcelona was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Thanh Charles to maneuver through the defense. After recieving a nice pass, Burlingame Football Club's Tony Handy tried to score from far away in the 46th minute, but the ball went over the crossbar. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 1-0 at half-time.

In the 51st minute, Hunter Locke got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Clark Woodson recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 54th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Wilton Stoddard made a fantastic save in the 56th minute, when Julio Peachey sent off a good shot on target. Burlingame Football Club were awarded a corner in the 58th minute after FC Barcelona's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Tony Handy took the corner. Woody Huggins's late challenge caught a FC Barcelona's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Woody Huggins helped the player get up and apologised. After some careless play in the FC Barcelona defense, Julio Peachey kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Wilton Stoddard. The FC Barcelona fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Wilton Stoddard should have stopped the shot. Wilton Stoddard took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Clark Woodson, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Alfonzo Hearn was shown his second yellow card after 67 minutes, following a rather ugly tackle on opponent. That was the end of his participation in the match. After a rather tough play, FC Barcelona's Alfonzo Hearn got a free kick in the 67th minute. Wilton Stoddard made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Clark Woodson in the 70th minute of play. Burlingame Football Club's supporters crossed their fingers, but Hunter Locke was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Clark Woodson might have been able to make a better finish in the 83rd minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Wilton Stoddard. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Clark Woodson ran back to his position shaking his head. After 83 played minutes FC Barcelona got a freekick which was hit by Thanh Charles. If Julio Peachey had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 88th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The audience was convinced that Clark Woodson's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Wilton Stoddard was relentless in the 89th minute of the game. Wilton Stoddard showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Clark Woodson, who was totally free with the ball in the 92nd minute. Julio Peachey fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 96th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Wilton Stoddard having to interfere. FC Barcelona succeeded in salvaging a draw, even though Burlingame Football Club had controlled the match.
