Santiago Graham fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 5th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Charles Cassidy having to interfere. Charles Cassidy made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Kenny Cottrell in the 6th minute of play. In the 9th minute Santiago Graham shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Charles Cassidy saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 14 minutes into the match, Northumberland AFC's Kenny Cottrell sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Charles Cassidy narrowly saved just below the crossbar. The audience thought a goal was coming when Antony West got free with Davis Eddy in the 16th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. The supporters of Ruidoso booed when Northumberland AFC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 22 match minutes in a wonderful position. Zackary Maurer didn't get a good kick on the ball. With a little luck, Northumberland AFC's Davis Eddy got control of the ball when Antony West tried to sneak it across the goal line. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Santiago Graham in the 33rd minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Charles Cassidy prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Northumberland AFC's Davis Eddy proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 38th minute of the match, managed to save Northumberland AFC from getting a goal against them. If Antony West had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 41st minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. In the 43rd minute, Kenny Cottrell got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. After 44 played minutes Northumberland AFC got a freekick which was hit by Aldo Reed. After having played for 45 minutes, Bryant Goodman managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Ruidoso's supporters crossed their fingers, but Bryant Goodman was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. The first half was very even, with the score at 0-0 when the whistle went for half-time. The players welcomed the break and quickly retired to the dressing rooms.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Kenny Cottrell stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. 52 minutes into the match, Northumberland AFC's goal looked a bit too open when Bryant Goodman came free, but Davis Eddy reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Kenny Cottrell in the 54th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Charles Cassidy prevented the ball from getting in the gole. The Northumberland AFC fans' excitement grew in the 54th match minute when Northumberland AFC's Kenny Cottrell looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 0-1 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. Charles Cassidy took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Kenny Cottrell, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. The crowd rose to their feet as Santiago Graham kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Charles Cassidy. That made the score 0-3 in the 75 minute of play. Bryant Goodman sent away a hard shot on goal in the 81st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. An unexpectedly hard shot by Antony West in the 85th minute of play forced Northumberland AFC's goalkeeper Davis Eddy to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. If Kenny Cottrell had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 90th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The Ruidoso supporters were disappointed that their team didn't take anything from the match, despite matching Northumberland AFC's performance. The match ended with a win for Northumberland AFC.
