Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Gerard Glover sent away a hard shot on goal in the 37th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Through an outstanding action, after 40 minutes, Andy Ayers successfully got his hands on the ball before it slid into the goal at the right post. Disappointed in the 1-3 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.

If Brendon Cornelius had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 53rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Boston Celtics's Palmer Bonner got a good chance for a goal in the 58th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Palmer Bonner hit a great freekick 68 minutes into the match. Wilmer Quintana sent away a hard shot on goal in the 71st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 73rd minute, Brendon Cornelius hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. If Milan McCollum had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 75th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Brendon Cornelius hit a great freekick 77 minutes into the match. In the 78th minute Gerard Glover shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Mitchell Barajas saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Gerard Glover fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 82nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Mitchell Barajas having to interfere. A collision led to San Lorenzo getting a freekick after 84 minutes play. Luther Rowell hit a great ball. An unexpectedly hard shot by Quinton Lin in the 87th minute of play forced San Lorenzo's goalkeeper Andy Ayers to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. When Luther Rowell fell near the penalty area in the 88th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored San Lorenzo's protests and gave Luther Rowell a yellow card for diving instead. In the 88th minute, Luther Rowell hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After a rather tough play, Boston Celtics's Dustin Irving got a free kick in the 89th minute. Boston Celtics's Mitchell Barajas proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 92nd minute of the match, managed to save Boston Celtics from getting a goal against them. After 93 played minutes Boston Celtics got a freekick which was hit by Dustin Irving. Odell Saunders took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 96th minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Mitchell Barajas. Boston Celtics's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. San Lorenzo played a much better game than Boston Celtics and deserved their victory. The Boston Celtics players were clearly disappointed as they left the ground.
