After a defensive mix-up in Banzo y Pinto FC's zone, Brendon Cornelius stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Marlin Sherwood came out of the goal and Brendon Cornelius tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Boston Celtics's Mitchell Barajas proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 21st minute of the match, managed to save Boston Celtics from getting a goal against them. The supporters of Banzo y Pinto FC booed when Boston Celtics was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 26 match minutes in a wonderful position. Palmer Bonner didn't get a good kick on the ball. After some careless play in the Banzo y Pinto FC defense, Brendon Cornelius kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Marlin Sherwood. The Banzo y Pinto FC fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Marlin Sherwood should have stopped the shot. Mitchell Barajas made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Jeremiah Rowland in the 34th minute of play. After having played for 35 minutes, Brendon Cornelius managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Boston Celtics's supporters crossed their fingers, but Brendon Cornelius was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. In the 48th match minute, Boston Celtics was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Palmer Bonner to maneuver through the defense.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Brendon Cornelius to strike the kick off in the second half. A collision led to Banzo y Pinto FC getting a freekick after 56 minutes play.
