Spectators: 34 (Terracing: 26, Seating: 8, VIP seats: 0) Dark clouds were building up when the players entered the field. None of the them looked very eager to play. Garth Sprague started the match with the kick off. After a rather tough play, Muskegon AFC's Cruz Norton got a free kick in the 10th minute. 11 minutes into the match, Cockermouth United's Charles Glover broke free and took a long shot that unfortunately flew wide. A fine initiative that could have resulted in a goal. Shawn Tompkins sent away a hard shot on goal in the 15th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Cockermouth United were awarded a corner in the 18th minute after Muskegon AFC's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Charles Glover took the corner. The corner led Cockermouth United's Charles Glover to fire away a dangerous shot which Rickey Jean despite some difficulties managed to get hold on the ball. An unexpected shot in the 20th minute by Shawn Tompkins got the crowd on their feet, but to their dismay it went out on the left side. The audience was convinced that Garth Sprague's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Rickey Jean was relentless in the 23rd minute of the game. Phil Dooley showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Cruz Norton, who was totally free with the ball in the 25th minute. J.P. Lucas sent away a hard shot on goal in the 28th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. When Rigoberto Babcock fell near the penalty area in the 31st minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Muskegon AFC's protests and gave Rigoberto Babcock a yellow card for diving instead. A collision led to Muskegon AFC getting a freekick after 31 minutes play. Rigoberto Babcock hit a great ball. 34 minutes into the match, Muskegon AFC's goalkeeper Rickey Jean had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Shawn Tompkins. If Shawn Tompkins had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 37th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The supporters of Muskegon AFC booed when Cockermouth United was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 38 match minutes in a wonderful position. Vincent Meza didn't get a good kick on the ball. Shawn Tompkins sent away a hard shot on goal in the 45th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After a very even first half the match was still tied. The players went to their respective dressing rooms to discuss the tactics for the second half.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Terrence Cooke to make the kick off. The supporters of Cockermouth United booed when Muskegon AFC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 53 match minutes in a wonderful position. Hector Stroud didn't get a good kick on the ball. After a rather tough play, Muskegon AFC's Cruz Norton got a free kick in the 55th minute. 58 minutes into the match, Garth Sprague notched a goal, 1-0, to the right of Muskegon AFC's Rickey Jean. Rickey Jean was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. After having played for 63 minutes, Garth Sprague managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Cockermouth United's supporters crossed their fingers, but Garth Sprague was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Shawn Tompkins struck a weak shot in the 65th minute. Rickey Jean didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Cockermouth United. After some fancy dribbling in the 67th minute, Shawn Tompkins managed to get in a good position for a shot. Cockermouth United's supporters rose to their feet, but Shawn Tompkins was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Rickey Jean breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. In the 69th match minute, Cockermouth United was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Vicente Tate to maneuver through the defense. After recieving a nice pass, Muskegon AFC's Derek Connolly tried to score from far away in the 69th minute, but the ball went over the crossbar. Graham Alston kicked well hit freekick during the 71st minute of the match. J.P. Lucas could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 76th minute of the match, but Phil Dooley made a huge save. Graham Alston took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 79th minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Rickey Jean. Muskegon AFC's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. A collision led to Cockermouth United getting a freekick after 82 minutes play. Charles Glover hit a great ball. With a little luck, Cockermouth United's Phil Dooley got control of the ball when J.P. Lucas tried to sneak it across the goal line. After some fancy dribbling in the 86th minute, Terrence Cooke managed to get in a good position for a shot. Muskegon AFC's supporters rose to their feet, but Terrence Cooke was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Phil Dooley breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Phil Dooley was a little too slow when Terrence Cooke got a fine hit on the ball which went right into the goal in the 87th minute. The score was now 1-1. In the 90th minute, Cruz Norton hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 94th minute, Cockermouth United's goalie took a deep sigh of relief after J.P. Lucas fired away a hard shot that went just outside the left post. Yong Duke's late challenge caught a Muskegon AFC's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Yong Duke helped the player get up and apologised. In the 96th minute, Yong Duke hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Cockermouth United were disappointed that they only managed a draw, even though they felt themselves to be the better team.
