Andre Avila sent away a hard shot on goal in the 5th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. If Fred Regan had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 8th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After a defensive mix-up in SixNineisthenewBillCosby's zone, Andre Avila stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Jon Gutierrez came out of the goal and Andre Avila tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. The crowd rose to their feet as Young Fowler kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Jon Gutierrez. That made the score 1-0 in the 13 minute of play. If Andre Avila had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 16th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Fred Regans short, quick shot in the 18thth minute got Jon Gutierrez to make great effort and bar the ball away from getting in. Willy Temple showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Homer Bell, who was totally free with the ball in the 21st minute. When Homer Bell came up free with the goalie in the 27th minute, the SixNineisthenewBillCosby fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Homer Bell couldn't finish the play. When Kris Perry fell near the penalty area in the 29th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Mishawaka's protests and gave Kris Perry a yellow card for diving instead. After 28 minutes of play, the referee blew the whistle. It was a penalty for Mishawaka! Mishawaka's Ivan Christie couldn't find anyone to pass the ball to, so he shot a long shot towards the goal in the 41st minute. The shot went wide which resulted in a goal kick for SixNineisthenewBillCosby. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 1-0.
Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Andre Avila to make the kick off. An unexpectedly hard shot by Fred Regan in the 51st minute of play forced SixNineisthenewBillCosby's goalkeeper Jon Gutierrez to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Willy Temple showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Homer Bell, who was totally free with the ball in the 53rd minute. When Andre Avila came up free with the goalie in the 65th minute, the Mishawaka fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Andre Avila couldn't finish the play. The audience was convinced that Andre Avila's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Jon Gutierrez was relentless in the 68th minute of the game. Homer Bell recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 75th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. A collision led to SixNineisthenewBillCosby getting a freekick after 78 minutes play. Homer Bell hit a great ball. Fred Regan fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 80th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Jon Gutierrez having to interfere. Andre Avila sent away a hard shot on goal in the 84th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. 85 minutes into the match, SixNineisthenewBillCosby's goal looked a bit too open when Fred Regan came free, but Jon Gutierrez reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Fred Regan blasted a shot towards the goal in the 87th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Jon Gutierrez having to make a save. Jon Gutierrez stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Andre Avila's shot from short distance in the 88th minute. The second half was just like the first, even and exciting. The match ended in a draw.
