Wolf Trap's Benjamin Costello played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Alberto Jimenez in the 3rd minute of play. Wayne Cole scored 1-0 in the 4th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Benjamin Costello, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. After a rather tough play, Monte Vista AFC's Benjamin Randolph got a free kick in the 7th minute. Blake Call took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 8th minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Erik Combs. Monte Vista AFC's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. Johnathan Madsen charged in rather forcefully in the 11th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Johnathan Madsen the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. The supporters of Monte Vista AFC booed when Wolf Trap was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 11 match minutes in a wonderful position. Johnathan Madsen didn't get a good kick on the ball. Benjamin Costello made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Alberto Jimenez in the 13th minute of play. Wayne Cole sent away a hard shot on goal in the 14th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. A collision led to Wolf Trap getting a freekick after 34 minutes play. Owen Hand hit a great ball. If Alberto Jimenez had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 35th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 35 minutes into the game, Alberto Jimenez was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Monte Vista AFC's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Wolf Trap the free kick. In the 35th match minute, Monte Vista AFC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Alberto Jimenez to maneuver through the defense. In the 39th minute, Alberto Jimenez left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Monte Vista AFC fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 4-0. Erik Combs was in the perfect position, and the defense had done a good job marking him, but Blake Call showcased his skills and made a perfect shot to score 4-1 in the 66 minute of play. In the 69th minute Alberto Jimenez shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Benjamin Costello saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Nick Clinton blasted a shot towards the goal in the 72nd minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Erik Combs having to make a save. After having played for 75 minutes, Blake Call managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Wolf Trap's supporters crossed their fingers, but Blake Call was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. 76 minutes into the match, Nick Clinton dribbled the ball past the defender and swiftly kicked the ball to the left of Erik Combs, 4-2. In the 79th minute Boyce Franco shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Erik Combs saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 81 minutes had been played when some careless play by Monte Vista AFC's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Owen Hand was slow to take the kick. During this time Wolf Trap's players had a chance to rest. The corner led Wolf Trap's Owen Hand to fire away a dangerous shot which Erik Combs despite some difficulties managed to get hold on the ball. Monte Vista AFC's Wayne Cole got a good chance for a goal in the 85th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. The audience thought a goal was coming when Nick Clinton got free with Erik Combs in the 91st minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Erik Combs made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Blake Call in the 95th minute of play. A collision led to Wolf Trap getting a freekick after 96 minutes play. Weston Hines hit a great ball. In the 98th minute of the match Collin Peachey shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Benjamin Costello showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball.
