Spectators: 34 (Terracing: 26, Seating: 8, VIP seats: 0) The field was rather wet after several days of rain when Orville Comer took the kick off in the first half of the match. In the 3rd minute, Warren Preston hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Parker Herron, 4 minutes into the match, dribbled the ball up the side of the field and decided to take a long shot at the goal. Unfortunately, the ball was poorly hit and landed closer to the corner than to the goal. Portland Timbers's Leonardo Conn got a good chance for a goal in the 7th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Portland Timbers's Wilbert Randle got a good chance for a goal in the 10th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. In the 10th minute, Leonardo Conn ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Kyle Hurd was frozen by the shot and now it was 0-1. An unexpectedly hard shot by Orville Comer in the 13th minute of play forced Portland Timbers's goalkeeper Ferdinand Bergstrom to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. An unexpectedly hard shot by Leonardo Conn in the 15th minute of play forced Shamrock's goalkeeper Kyle Hurd to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After 20 minutes, Bret Myers mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Portland Timbers and the Shamrock players grew even worse after the yellow card. Orville Comer received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 22nd minute. Ferdinand Bergstrom tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After 23 played minutes Portland Timbers got a freekick which was hit by Ross Landers. When Tod Pritchard came up free with the goalie in the 25th minute, the Shamrock fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Tod Pritchard couldn't finish the play. 26 minutes into the match, Portland Timbers's goal looked a bit too open when Orville Comer came free, but Ferdinand Bergstrom reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. A collision led to Shamrock getting a freekick after 31 minutes play. Jerome Landers hit a great ball. Kyle Hurd showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Leonardo Conn, who was totally free with the ball in the 36th minute. 37 minutes into the game, Xavier Timmons was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Portland Timbers's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Shamrock the free kick. The audience was convinced that Leonardo Conn's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Kyle Hurd was relentless in the 39th minute of the game. Leonardo Conn received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 42nd minute. Kyle Hurd tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After the first half Portland Timbers were leading 0-1. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Leonardo Conn to make the kick off. When Tod Pritchard came up free with the goalie in the 51st minute, the Shamrock fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Tod Pritchard couldn't finish the play. Orville Comer sent away a hard shot on goal in the 53rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After a rather tough play, Portland Timbers's Genaro Jernigan got a free kick in the 60th minute. Orville Comer blasted a shot towards the goal in the 62nd minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Ferdinand Bergstrom having to make a save. Tod Pritchard received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 62nd minute. Ferdinand Bergstrom tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Wilbert Randle fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 65th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Kyle Hurd having to interfere. If Tod Pritchard had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 68th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. An unexpectedly hard shot by Orville Comer in the 71st minute of play forced Portland Timbers's goalkeeper Ferdinand Bergstrom to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 75th minute, Tod Pritchard ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Ferdinand Bergstrom was frozen by the shot and now it was 1-1. Ferdinand Bergstrom showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Orville Comer, who was totally free with the ball in the 79th minute. Bret Myers hit a great freekick 80 minutes into the match. 81 minutes into the game, Orville Comer cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 2-1. Ferdinand Bergstrom was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Kyle Hurd took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Leonardo Conn, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. A collision led to Shamrock getting a freekick after 92 minutes play. Teodoro Lilly hit a great ball. 93 minutes into the match, Portland Timbers's Parker Herron sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Kyle Hurd narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Wilbert Randle fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 95th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Kyle Hurd having to interfere. For all the effort they put into the match, the Portland Timbers players left disappointed. They had fought hard, but couldn't break down the home team's defense. The match ended in a win for Shamrock.
