Spectators: 35 (Terracing: 27, Seating: 8, VIP seats: 0) Dark clouds were building up when the players entered the field. None of the them looked very eager to play. Wayne Walls started the match with the kick off. After a rather tough play, Rapids's Fred Handy got a free kick in the 2nd minute. Deshawn Novak took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 6th minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Alvin Case. San Diego State Aztecs's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. After 7 played minutes San Diego State Aztecs got a freekick which was hit by Tanner Devine. Dave Arredondo kicked well hit freekick during the 10th minute of the match. Deshawn Novak took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 11th minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Alvin Case. San Diego State Aztecs's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. An unexpectedly hard shot by Wayne Walls in the 19th minute of play forced Rapids's goalkeeper Richie Ryder to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. With a little luck, Rapids's Richie Ryder got control of the ball when Stevie Grossman tried to sneak it across the goal line. In the 25th minute, Luciano Eldridge hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 30thth minute of the game Rudolph Parker who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but San Diego State Aztecs's Alvin Case was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Alvin Case showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Rudolph Parker, who was totally free with the ball in the 32nd minute. Rapids's Richie Ryder proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 34th minute of the match, managed to save Rapids from getting a goal against them. Nick Brewer hit a great freekick 41 minutes into the match. Wayne Walls sent away a hard shot on goal in the 44th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance.

After 51 played minutes Rapids got a freekick which was hit by Luciano Eldridge. Stevie Grossman fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 54th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Richie Ryder having to interfere. Orlando Dukes fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 57th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Alvin Case having to interfere. In the 58th match minute, San Diego State Aztecs was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Dave Arredondo to maneuver through the defense. 63 minutes into the match, Wayne Walls notched a goal, 2-0, to the right of Rapids's Richie Ryder. Richie Ryder was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Wayne Walls recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 71st minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. After some careless play in the Rapids defense, Wayne Walls kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Richie Ryder. The Rapids fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Richie Ryder should have stopped the shot. Dave Arredondo hit a great freekick 85 minutes into the match. Orlando Dukes struck a weak shot in the 92nd minute. Alvin Case didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Rapids. When Rudolph Parker came up free with the goalie in the 93rd minute, the Rapids fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Rudolph Parker couldn't finish the play. In the 96th match minute, San Diego State Aztecs was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Tanner Devine to maneuver through the defense. San Diego State Aztecs's supporters were highly satisfied with the result. They cheered their team of the pitch, having watched them win a very even match.
