Tomas Kincaid stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Brandon Ricks's shot from short distance in the 8th minute. An unexpectedly hard shot by Kurt Diamond in the 12th minute of play forced Minuteman FC's goalkeeper Tomas Kincaid to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Jefferson Bassett made an important save on a dangerous shot by Heriberto Brandon in the 18th minute. Jefferson Bassett was out of position in the 20 minute of play, and Hal Davison capitalized on the mistake with a soft shot into the goal. Hal Davison really showed his touch with that goal: 1-0. Heriberto Brandon sent away a hard shot on goal in the 30th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After 34 played minutes Minuteman FC got a freekick which was hit by Wilton Donovan. After 40 played minutes, Minuteman FC's Lane Metz shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Jefferson Bassett came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Minuteman FC reached it. In the 47th minute, Brandon Ricks ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Tomas Kincaid was frozen by the shot and now it was 1-1.

The wind increased when Kurt Diamond made the kick off in the second half. Lumberton's Jefferson Bassett played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Hal Davison in the 77th minute of play. Lumberton's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Lane Metz ran over to the corner to take the kick. The corner led Minuteman FC's Lane Metz to fire away a dangerous shot which Jefferson Bassett despite some difficulties managed to get hold on the ball. An unexpectedly hard shot by Heriberto Brandon in the 90th minute of play forced Lumberton's goalkeeper Jefferson Bassett to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 91st minute, Minuteman FC's goalie took a deep sigh of relief after Brandon Ricks fired away a hard shot that went just outside the left post. After 96 minutes of play Lumberton's Sandy Platt was too eager in his attempt to stop his opponent and brought him down. With that he got his second yellow card and was ordered off the ground. In the 97th match minute, Lumberton was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Sandy Platt to maneuver through the defense. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Heriberto Brandon in the 98th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Jefferson Bassett prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Both teams had looked equal from kick-off, and no-one was surprised when the match finally ended in a draw.
