Jeremiah Lambert might have been able to make a better finish in the 13th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Hugo Castaneda. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Jeremiah Lambert ran back to his position shaking his head. Teddy Wray kicked well hit freekick during the 14th minute of the match. 17 minutes into the match, Patrick McHugh had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Shane Owen. Atlanta Vikings's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Patrick McHugh was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 0-1. Jeremiah Lambert struck a weak shot in the 28th minute. Hugo Castaneda didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Atlanta Vikings. Mobile's Marcellus Becerra got a good chance for a goal in the 31st minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Shane Owen came out of the goal in the 33rd minute to try and stop a shot by Mobile's Grant Denson. But to his dismay, Grant Denson quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-2. Jeremiah Lambert fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 37th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Hugo Castaneda having to interfere. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Patrick McHugh in the 40th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Shane Owen prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Patrick McHugh fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 45th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Shane Owen having to interfere. The crowd was extremely unhappy with the home team's performance in the first half. They were losing 0-2.
The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Jeremiah Lambert to strike the kick off in the second half. Grant Denson fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 53rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Shane Owen having to interfere. If Patrick McHugh had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 61st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Mobile's Grant Denson got a good chance for a goal in the 67th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Jake Lynn kicked well hit freekick during the 68th minute of the match. In the 77th minute, Mobile's Patrick McHugh ran free of his marker and smoothly shot the ball into the goal behind Shane Owen. Shane Owen yelled at his defense, as they had left him out to dry. 0-3. 83 minutes into the match, Atlanta Vikings's goalkeeper Shane Owen had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Grant Denson. Shane Owen took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Teddy Wray, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Len Ferreira charged in rather forcefully in the 92nd minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Len Ferreira the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. Mobile's fans were overjoyed with their teams well-earned victory and stayed in the stadium long after the final whistle to celebrate the win.
