Spectators: 35 (Terracing: 27, Seating: 8, VIP seats: 0) The mood of the audience was pleasant when Rodney Pace made the kick off which started today's match. Otis Kuhn showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Ruben Valentine, who was totally free with the ball in the 3rd minute. In the 8th minute of the match Griffins got a corner. Vancouver FC's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Lanny Banning ran over to the corner to take the kick. A nice corner shot did that Lanny Banning got away a dangerous shot. Despite this Woody Hinkle quite easily got ahold of the ball to make the save. In the 12th minute, Griffins's Earl Barlow dribbled the ball into the box and hit a shot with the outside of his foot, sending the keeper the wrong way. 1-0. Otis Kuhn took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Ruben Valentine, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Vancouver FC's Woody Hinkle played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Earl Barlow in the 20th minute of play. After 20 minutes, Morgan Strange mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Vancouver FC and the Griffins players grew even worse after the yellow card. The supporters of Griffins booed when Vancouver FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 20 match minutes in a wonderful position. Morgan Strange didn't get a good kick on the ball. Lanny Banning recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 23rd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. 24 minutes into the match, Lanny Banning dribbled the ball past the defender and swiftly kicked the ball to the left of Woody Hinkle, 2-0. Alvin German received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 29th minute. Woody Hinkle tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Lanny Bannings short, quick shot in the 32ndth minute got Woody Hinkle to make great effort and bar the ball away from getting in. Otis Kuhn showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Ruben Valentine in the 34th minute of the match. The referee blew the whistle for a penalty in the 36th minute of the game. One of Griffins:s players had nearly got his shirt torn off by an opponent while getting free in front of Vancouver FC:s goal. Eduardo Davenport scored 2-2 in the 42nd match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Otis Kuhn, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. In the 45th minute, Griffins's Jessie Benson seemed to kick out at an opponent. The referee saw this and, surprisingly, showed Jessie Benson the red card, dismissing him from the pitch. The coaching staff of Griffins protested bitterly, but the referee would have none of it, and Jessie Benson had no choice but to slowly walk off the pitch. The referee blew the whistle for a penalty in the 45th minute of the game. One of Griffins:s players had nearly got his shirt torn off by an opponent while getting free in front of Vancouver FC:s goal. Griffins:s Otis Kuhn showed great skill when he stopped Florian Hawthorne:s penalty. Florian Hawthorne did an outstanding performance 48 minutes into the match, when he by himself got past the opposing team's defense and with a quick scored 2-3 to the right of an irritated Otis Kuhn in the goal.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Alvin German to strike the kick off in the second half. The supporters of Vancouver FC booed when Griffins was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 55 match minutes in a wonderful position. Alvin German didn't get a good kick on the ball. Otis Kuhn was out of position in the 64 minute of play, and Eduardo Davenport capitalized on the mistake with a soft shot into the goal. Eduardo Davenport really showed his touch with that goal: 2-4. Alvin German received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 72nd minute. Woody Hinkle tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After a rather tough play, Griffins's Earl Barlow got a free kick in the 75th minute. In the 98th minute Lanny Banning shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Woody Hinkle saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Chants of Vancouver FC echoed around the stadium as the match drew to a close. Supporters and players were both delighted with the win, as Griffins had held the ball for most of the match.
