Rigoberto Thurston showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Emerson Hinton in the 4th minute of the match. After a rather tough play, Saints's Marlin Gustafson got a free kick in the 7th minute. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Nelson Gagne in the 13th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Norbert Parra prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Bronson Thompson received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 16th minute. Rigoberto Thurston tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. 19 minutes into the match, Covington ZSC's goal looked a bit too open when Emerson Hinton came free, but Rigoberto Thurston reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Emerson Hinton sent away a hard shot on goal in the 20th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 28th minute, Bronson Thompson reached a very good position and smashed the ball with a huge effort into the net, just to the left of Rigoberto Thurston. The goal made the score 1-0. 2-0 became the score in the 31st minute when Emerson Hinton elegantly shot the ball into goal just under the crossbar. Rigoberto Thurston showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Emerson Hinton in the 35th minute of the match. After some careless play in the Saints defense, Filiberto Teague kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Norbert Parra. The Saints fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Norbert Parra should have stopped the shot. Covington ZSC's Rigoberto Thurston proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 42nd minute of the match, managed to save Covington ZSC from getting a goal against them. When Filiberto Teague came up free with the goalie in the 44th minute, the Covington ZSC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Filiberto Teague couldn't finish the play. Saints's Norbert Parra played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Nelson Gagne in the 47th minute of play.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Emerson Hinton made a kick off. The supporters of Saints booed when Covington ZSC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 51 match minutes in a wonderful position. Raymond Longoria didn't get a good kick on the ball. After 57 played minutes Saints got a freekick which was hit by Jacob Jameson. In the 58th minute, Nelson Gagne got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Filiberto Teague sent away a hard shot on goal in the 59th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Filiberto Teague could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 61st minute of the match, but Norbert Parra made a huge save. Emerson Hinton sent away a hard shot on goal in the 63rd minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. A collision led to Covington ZSC getting a freekick after 64 minutes play. Micah Rankin hit a great ball. After having played for 68 minutes, Nelson Gagne managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Covington ZSC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Nelson Gagne was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Filiberto Teague received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 71st minute. Norbert Parra tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. The supporters of Covington ZSC booed when Saints was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 74 match minutes in a wonderful position. Craig Poole didn't get a good kick on the ball. 75 minutes into the match, Covington ZSC's Winston Arthur broke free and took a long shot that unfortunately flew wide. A fine initiative that could have resulted in a goal. 89 minutes into the match, Covington ZSC's Filiberto Teague sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Norbert Parra narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Nelson Gagne fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 94th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Norbert Parra having to interfere. In the 96th minute, Emerson Hinton got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. The referee blew his whistle, and the match came to a close. The players exchanged shirts and headed down the tunnel. The Saints fans cheered their team off the field, for while Covington ZSC had put up a good fight, they were unable to come out of the game with any points to show for their effort.
