Spectators: 34 (Terracing: 26, Seating: 8, VIP seats: 0) It was fairly windy and cold on the field when Andy Henley kicked off to start the match. When Val Verda's Andy Henley in the 3rd minute got a chance for a shot 3rd didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye University Place FC's goalie prevented a goal. University Place FC's Freddie Brewster got a good chance for a goal in the 5th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Winford Patrick received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 8th minute. Simon Thayer tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. 9 minutes into the match, Val Verda's goalkeeper Simon Thayer had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Winford Patrick. If Andy Henley had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 12th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. University Place FC's Jim Lassiter played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Andy Henley in the 15th minute of play. Freddie Brewster received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 23rd minute. Simon Thayer tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Tod Sapp hit a great freekick 24 minutes into the match. University Place FC's Freddie Brewster got a good chance for a goal in the 31st minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. In the 32nd match minute, Val Verda was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Hans Rios to maneuver through the defense. Winford Patrick fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 33rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Simon Thayer having to interfere. Simon Thayer made a fantastic save in the 35th minute, when Winford Patrick sent off a good shot on target. The audience was convinced that Freddie Brewster's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Simon Thayer was relentless in the 38th minute of the game. In the 39th minute, Andy Henley hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. 42 minutes into the match, University Place FC's goal looked a bit too open when Andy Henley came free, but Jim Lassiter reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Freddie Brewster struck a weak shot in the 46th minute. Simon Thayer didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for University Place FC. After a very even first half the match was still tied. The players went to their respective dressing rooms to discuss the tactics for the second half.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Freddie Brewster was the one to do the kick off. Winford Patrick recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 57th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. In the 61st minute, Freddie Brewster ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Simon Thayer was frozen by the shot and now it was 1-0. If Wesley Gregory had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 65th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Freddie Brewster sent away a hard shot on goal in the 71st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. 75 minutes into the match, Val Verda's Andy Henley sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Jim Lassiter narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Simon Thayer made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Freddie Brewster in the 81st minute of play. When the match had gone on for 91 minutes, Freddie Brewster put it in 2-0 from a short distance just to the right of Simon Thayer. University Place FC's fans were exulted and cheered after their team won in a match that could easily have gone the other way.
