He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Irmo FC reached it. America United's Zackary McCall played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Gilbert Kent in the 13th minute of play. The supporters of Irmo FC booed when America United was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 13 match minutes in a wonderful position. Roy Shaw didn't get a good kick on the ball. After some fancy dribbling in the 17th minute, Gilbert Kent managed to get in a good position for a shot. Irmo FC's supporters rose to their feet, but Gilbert Kent was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Zackary McCall breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. A collision led to America United getting a freekick after 19 minutes play. Albert Schroeder hit a great ball. The referee blew the whistle for a penalty in the 20th minute of the game. One of America United:s players had nearly got his shirt torn off by an opponent while getting free in front of Irmo FC:s goal. The supporters of America United booed when Irmo FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 24 match minutes in a wonderful position. Anthony Reynolds didn't get a good kick on the ball. After a rather tough play, America United's Bradly Flanagan got a free kick in the 28th minute. When Gilbert Kent came up free with the goalie in the 29th minute, the Irmo FC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Gilbert Kent couldn't finish the play. In the 43rd minute, Roy Shaw hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Royce Hawthorne was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Royce Hawthorne showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Harvey Dupre, who was totally free with the ball in the 65th minute. When America United's Garret Cage in 68 game minutes managed to cut through with the ball in front of the goal, only having to shoot. Royce Hawthorne guarding the goal like a pit bull was extremely focused and managed to reach the ball just by the crossbar before it went in. Bryan Arnold fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 97th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Zackary McCall having to interfere. For all the effort they put into the match, the Irmo FC players left disappointed. They had fought hard, but couldn't break down the home team's defense. The match ended in a win for America United.
