East Wenatchee FC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Len Tobin was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. In the 13th minute, Ed McCormick hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. 26 minutes into the match, Sammy Cardenas had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Myles Albert. East Wenatchee FC's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Sammy Cardenas was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 0-1. Drew Bond scored 1-1 in the 29th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Duncan Salas, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Len Tobin fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 37th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Duncan Salas having to interfere. After a rather tough play, Arsenal's Vern Barber got a free kick in the 41st minute. In the 44th minute of the match East Wenatchee FC got a corner. Arsenal's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Gilbert Combs ran over to the corner to take the kick. Gilbert Combs made a great header on East Wenatchee FC's corner, it was just that Arsenal's Duncan Salas managed to reach the ball for a save. In the 46th minute Sammy Cardenas shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Myles Albert saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The fans had the chance to grab some refreshments as the whistle went for half-time. The score stood at 1-1 after a close first half.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Sammy Cardenas was the one to do the kick off. In the 51st match minute, East Wenatchee FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Emerson Hampton to maneuver through the defense. The crowd rose to their feet as Arsenal's Sammy Cardenas slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Myles Albert. That made the score 1-2 after 52 minutes of play. Cole Soto scored 1-3 in the 54th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Myles Albert, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Len Tobin couldn't finish the play. Cole Soto received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 84th minute. Myles Albert tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. When Ed McCormick came up free with the goalie in the 86th minute, the Arsenal fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Ed McCormick couldn't finish the play. Duncan Salas took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Drew Bond, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. The referee blew the final whistle, and the away crowd roared, having watched Arsenal eke out a victory against a very well matched opponent.
