The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Darnell Hickman showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Woodrow Cadena in the 5th minute of the match. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Eddy Crum in the 6th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Darnell Hickman saved Burlington FC from getting behind. Brett Vasquez hit a great freekick 7 minutes into the match. In the 8th minute of the match Adalberto Davila shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Darnell Hickman showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. 20 minutes into the match, Burlington FC's goal looked a bit too open when Woodrow Cadena came free, but Darnell Hickman reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. The supporters of ZANGEZUR booed when Burlington FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 22 match minutes in a wonderful position. Waylon Daniel didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 24thth minute of the game Eddy Crum who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Burlington FC's Darnell Hickman was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Jacques Rhoades's late challenge caught a ZANGEZUR's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Jacques Rhoades helped the player get up and apologised. In the 27th minute of the match Adalberto Davila shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Darnell Hickman showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. Tuan Dennison took the ball and in the 29 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Lawrence Pack. Lawrence Pack dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 1-0. Lawrence Pack didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Waylon Daniel went, in the 33rd minute, to the upper right corner, 2-0 was the resulting score. The supporters of ZANGEZUR booed when Burlington FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 36 match minutes in a wonderful position. Ezra Toth didn't get a good kick on the ball. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 2-0 at half-time.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Woodrow Cadena to strike the kick off in the second half. If Ezra Toth had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 54th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Lawrence Pack showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Waylon Daniel in the 60th minute of the match. If Jacques Rhoades had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 63rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After 66 minutes of play Burlington FC's Jacques Rhoades was too eager in his attempt to stop his opponent and brought him down. With that he got his second yellow card and was ordered off the ground. After 67 played minutes Burlington FC got a freekick which was hit by Jacques Rhoades. Woodrow Cadenas short, quick shot in the 68thth minute got Darnell Hickman to make great effort and bar the ball away from getting in. When Tuan Dennison came up free with the goalie in the 72nd minute, the Burlington FC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Tuan Dennison couldn't finish the play. 73 minutes into the match, ZANGEZUR's goal looked a bit too open when Tuan Dennison came free, but Lawrence Pack reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. A collision led to ZANGEZUR getting a freekick after 74 minutes play. Quinton Lindsay hit a great ball. With his leg Darnell Hickman managed to avoid a goal in the 77thth minute, when ZANGEZUR's Woodrow Cadena fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. Lawrence Pack took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Tuan Dennison, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Burlington FC's Darnell Hickman played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Vicente Bassett in the 86th minute of play. Lawrence Pack stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Ezra Toth's shot from short distance in the 87th minute. Waylon Daniel's late challenge caught a ZANGEZUR's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. An unexpectedly hard shot by Tuan Dennison in the 97th minute of play forced ZANGEZUR's goalkeeper Lawrence Pack to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. ZANGEZUR's players left the field with heads hung low after losing a match that had been finely balanced throughout.
