In the 15th match minute, Monte Vista AFC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Kasey Weaver to maneuver through the defense. If Tad Dodson had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 20th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Derick Langford fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 22nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Willie Carbajal having to interfere. In the 24th minute, Harvey Barrera hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. The supporters of Monte Vista AFC booed when Carbondale FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 26 match minutes in a wonderful position. Dylan Hetfield didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 30th minute, Gerald Vigil got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Weldon Numbers received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 33rd minute. Kenneth Joyner tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Kenneth Joyner showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Weldon Numbers in the 37th minute of the match. The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Weldon Numbers to strike the kick off in the second half. After 56 played minutes, Carbondale FC's Bobbie Briggs shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Willie Carbajal came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Carbondale FC reached it. With a little luck, Carbondale FC's Kenneth Joyner got control of the ball when Gerald Vigil tried to sneak it across the goal line. When Kasey Weaver was, once again, overly rough in his play he received his second yellow card and was ordered off the ground. 63 minutes had been played. The supporters of Carbondale FC booed when Monte Vista AFC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 64 match minutes in a wonderful position. Kasey Weaver didn't get a good kick on the ball. Tad Dodson sent away a hard shot on goal in the 67th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After 71 played minutes Monte Vista AFC got a freekick which was hit by Sol Gilliam. Kenneth Joyner took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Gerald Vigil, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Gerald Vigil sent away a hard shot on goal in the 76th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Scottie Walker sent away a hard shot on goal in the 80th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After a defensive mix-up in Carbondale FC's zone, Gerald Vigil stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Kenneth Joyner came out of the goal and Gerald Vigil tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Gerald Vigil during the 86th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. A collision led to Monte Vista AFC getting a freekick after 86 minutes play. Gerald Vigil hit a great ball. Derick Langford recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 94th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Both teams had looked equal from kick-off, and no-one was surprised when the match finally ended in a draw.
