After a defensive mix-up in Lions of Quenns's zone, Weldon Numbers stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Alan Land came out of the goal and Weldon Numbers tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Alan Land made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Gerald Vigil in the 26th minute of play. Gerald Vigil fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 33rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Alan Land having to interfere. A collision led to Lions of Quenns getting a freekick after 34 minutes play. Jonathan Bannister hit a great ball. Alan Land showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Gerald Vigil, who was totally free with the ball in the 36th minute. The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Roderick Chappelle stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. The referee ignored Monte Vista AFC's protests and gave Sol Gilliam a yellow card for diving instead. Willie Carbajal had in the 60thth minute some difficulties stopping Emerson Goldberg's well aimed penalty as it nearly passed him on his left side, but he still managed to hold the ball. The excitement rose when Lions of Quenns's Emerson Goldberg after 60 played minutes turned away three defenders near the goal, and after that shot a ball that was too difficult for Monte Vista AFC's goalkeeper to hold. Score! 1-0. When the match had gone on for 63 minutes, Gerald Vigil took a quick shot and it went in 1-1 without a chance for Alan Land to make any attempt to save it. 68 minutes into the match, Lions of Quenns's goal looked a bit too open when Weldon Numbers came free, but Alan Land reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. 71 minutes into the game, one of Lions of Quenns:s players got tackled near the goal, and the referee blew for a penalty. The goalkeeper, Alan Land, was totally fooled by Monte Vista AFC's Solomon Melvin, who 72 minutes into the game made a penalty shot that went in on the goalkeeper's left side. Gerald Vigil sent away a hard shot on goal in the 76th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. If Weldon Numbers had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 78th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead.
