The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. An unexpectedly hard shot by Merrill Justice in the 11th minute of play forced West Valley City FC's goalkeeper Josh Elkins to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Josh Elkins stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Merrill Justice's shot from short distance in the 12th minute. After some careless play in the West Valley City FC defense, Merrill Justice kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Josh Elkins. The West Valley City FC fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Josh Elkins should have stopped the shot. Josh Elkins made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Merrill Justice in the 20th minute of play. 26 minutes into the match, Miami Gators's goalkeeper Owen Baker had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Sergio Farrell. Josh Elkins showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Milo Winn in the 28th minute of the match. West Valley City FC's Josh Elkins played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Merrill Justice in the 34th minute of play. In the 37th minute Merrill Justice shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Josh Elkins saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Josh Elkins took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Milo Winn, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Josh Elkins showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Merrill Justice in the 42nd minute of the match. Luck had favoured the away team in the first, and they walked off with a 0-1 lead.
Josh Elkins made a fantastic save in the 51st minute, when Milo Winn sent off a good shot on target. When the match had gone on for 53 minutes, Merrill Justice took a quick shot and it went in 0-2 without a chance for Josh Elkins to make any attempt to save it. The supporters of West Valley City FC booed when Miami Gators was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 58 match minutes in a wonderful position. Milo Winn didn't get a good kick on the ball. Timmy Sawyer received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 59th minute. Owen Baker tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Josh Elkins made an important save on a dangerous shot by Milo Winn in the 63rd minute. Josh Elkins made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Merrill Justice in the 70th minute of play. Miami Gators's Milo Winn got a good chance for a goal in the 73rd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. The crowd rose to their feet as Merrill Justice kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Josh Elkins. That made the score 1-3 in the 76 minute of play. The supporters of Miami Gators booed when West Valley City FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 79 match minutes in a wonderful position. Woody Rushing didn't get a good kick on the ball. Josh Elkins took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Merrill Justice, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 87th minute, Milo Winn left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Miami Gators fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 1-5. When Timmy Sawyer came up free with the goalie in the 96th minute, the West Valley City FC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Timmy Sawyer couldn't finish the play. Miami Gators played a much better game than West Valley City FC and deserved their victory. The West Valley City FC players were clearly disappointed as they left the ground.
