Seating: 8, VIP seats: 0) Dark clouds were building up when the players entered the field. None of the them looked very eager to play. Sergio Farrell started the match with the kick off. Mehmet Özdilek received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 4th minute. Josh Elkins tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After 8 played minutes West Valley City FC got a freekick which was hit by Charles Escobedo. After some fancy dribbling in the 11th minute, Damien Keith managed to get in a good position for a shot. Club Deportivo Leon's supporters rose to their feet, but Damien Keith was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Josh Elkins breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Mark Gauthier's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Andy Madsen read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 21st minute of play. 21 minutes into the game, Stanford Cox was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Club Deportivo Leon's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave West Valley City FC the free kick. In the 22nd match minute, Club Deportivo Leon was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Stanford Cox to maneuver through the defense. If Sergio Farrell had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 26th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Mark Gauthier sent away a hard shot on goal in the 27th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Damien Keith charged in rather forcefully in the 29th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Damien Keith the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. In the 29th minute, Damien Keith hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Mehmet Özdilek might have been able to make a better finish in the 34th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Josh Elkins. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Mehmet Özdilek ran back to his position shaking his head. In the 35th minute Mark Gauthier shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Andy Madsen saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After a defensive mix-up in West Valley City FC's zone, Stanford Cox stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Josh Elkins came out of the goal and Stanford Cox tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Mehmet Özdilek recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 38th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Club Deportivo Leon's Mehmet Özdilek got a good chance for a goal in the 40th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. When Damien Keith came up free with the goalie in the 43rd minute, the Club Deportivo Leon fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Damien Keith couldn't finish the play. 45 minutes into the match, Damien Keith dribbled the ball past the defender and swiftly kicked the ball to the left of Josh Elkins, 1-0.
The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Damien Keith to strike the kick off in the second half. 54 minutes into the game, Damien Keith cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 2-0. Josh Elkins was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Club Deportivo Leon's Mehmet Özdilek got a good chance for a goal in the 58th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. After some fancy dribbling in the 59th minute, Damien Keith managed to get in a good position for a shot. Josh Elkins showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Stanford Cox, who was totally free with the ball in the 67th minute. After a defensive mix-up in West Valley City FC's zone, Damien Keith stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Josh Elkins came out of the goal and Damien Keith tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Gabriel Macri in the 76th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Josh Elkins prevented the ball from getting in the gole. West Valley City FC's Josh Elkins played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Mehmet Özdilek in the 77th minute of play. After having played for 78 minutes, Damien Keith managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Club Deportivo Leon's supporters crossed their fingers, but Damien Keith was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal.
