The audience thought a goal was coming when Douglass Minton got free with Mohammed Altman in the 13th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Ed Alfaro was really disappointed when he shot the ball just outside the right post instead of scoring a goal in the 15th minute. West Dundee's manager could be seen on the sidelines shaking his head and muttering to himself as his team had just wasted another chance. Mohammed Altman showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Ed Alfaro, who was totally free with the ball in the 18th minute. In the 23rd minute Ed Alfaro shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Mohammed Altman saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 26th minute, Cyrus Douglas hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After 27 played minutes, West Dundee's Casey Davison shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Mohammed Altman came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Arnoldo Castillo to make the kick off. Douglass Minton fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 57th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Mohammed Altman having to interfere. In the 59th minute Arnoldo Castillo shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Trey Young saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 61 minutes into the match, Ed Alfaro notched a goal, 2-0, to the right of Djurgårdens IF's Mohammed Altman. Mohammed Altman was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it.
