Russell Ziegler kicked well hit freekick during the 2nd minute of the match. Alfredo Draper recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 5th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. In the 13th match minute, Dearborn AFC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Rene Dominguez to maneuver through the defense. When Reginald Wilkins fell near the penalty area in the 14th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Dearborn AFC's protests and gave Reginald Wilkins a yellow card for diving instead. When the match had gone on for 16 minutes, Matthew Zaragoza put it in 1-0 from a short distance just to the right of David Fontenot. Dearborn AFC's defense didn't have a chance, in the 19th minute, when Matthew Zaragoza scored to the left of an out of position David Fontenot, making the score, 2-0. In the 23rd minute, Andreas Bentley hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. The supporters of Dearborn AFC booed when Club Atlético Lanús was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 25 match minutes in a wonderful position. Jerome Keyes didn't get a good kick on the ball. After having played for 26 minutes, Alfredo Draper managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Dearborn AFC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Alfredo Draper was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Alfredo Draper sent away a hard shot on goal in the 29th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 32nd minute, Club Atlético Lanús's Rickie Bingham dribbled the ball into the box and hit a shot with the outside of his foot, sending the keeper the wrong way. 3-0. Ben Gould hit a great freekick 35 minutes into the match. David Fontenot took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Matthew Zaragoza, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Dearborn AFC's David Fontenot proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 39th minute of the match, managed to save Dearborn AFC from getting a goal against them. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 4-0 at half-time.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Rickie Bingham to make the kick off. An unexpectedly hard shot by Matthew Zaragoza in the 54th minute of play forced Dearborn AFC's goalkeeper David Fontenot to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Ben Gould hit a great freekick 56 minutes into the match. Club Atlético Lanús made a substitution. Dallas Huff replaced Matthew Zaragoza. Ben Gould kicked well hit freekick during the 58th minute of the match. After a defensive mix-up in Dearborn AFC's zone, Ben Gould stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. David Fontenot came out of the goal and Ben Gould tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. David Fontenot showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Dallas Huff, who was totally free with the ball in the 62nd minute. David Fontenot showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Rickie Bingham in the 64th minute of the match. In the 69th minute, Dallas Huff made a precise shot to the right of David Fontenot. Dearborn AFC's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 5-0. In the 75th minute, Heriberto Barker hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. An unexpectedly hard shot by Dallas Huff in the 80th minute of play forced Dearborn AFC's goalkeeper David Fontenot to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After a defensive mix-up in Dearborn AFC's zone, Ben Gould stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. David Fontenot came out of the goal and Ben Gould tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. In the 82nd match minute, Dearborn AFC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Russell Ziegler to maneuver through the defense. In the 84th minute Dallas Huff shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but David Fontenot saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 86 minutes into the game, Rickie Bingham cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 6-0. David Fontenot was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. The supporters of Dearborn AFC booed when Club Atlético Lanús was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 89 match minutes in a wonderful position. Ben Gould didn't get a good kick on the ball. Dallas Huff scored 7-0 in the 91st match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of David Fontenot, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. In the 95th minute, Ben Gould ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. David Fontenot was frozen by the shot and now it was 8-0. Club Atlético Lanús's supporters were delighted with their team's performance and swarmed onto the pitch at the end of the match to celebrate the victory with the players.
