Darrell Curran made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 0-1. Dallas Kearns hit a great freekick 8 minutes into the match. In the 9th minute, Vince Cleveland left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Wichita Regulators fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 0-2. In the 16th minute, Kelly Hayden ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Darrell Curran was frozen by the shot and now it was 0-3. Stacey Rafferty hit a great freekick 19 minutes into the match. The supporters of Bartonville booed when Wichita Regulators was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 20 match minutes in a wonderful position. Anson Carney didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 21st minute of the match Lazaro Ruth sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Marcelo Gröhe skillfully saved the ball. They errupted in celebration when the whistle blew, knowing Wichita Regulators would go home with victory in their luggage after a match that easily could have ended differently.
