Noel Grant showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Pierre Bocanegra, who was totally free with the ball in the 23rd minute. In the 30th minute Irmo were awarded a corner. Ace Dougherty went to the cornerflag to take it. When the match had gone on for 31 minutes, Ace Dougherty put it in 0-1 from a short distance just to the right of Roberto Alston. Noel Grant made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Pierre Bocanegra in the 34th minute of play. In the 42nd minute, Ace Dougherty made a precise shot to the right of Roberto Alston. FAIR PLAY MZ's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 1-2. After the first half Irmo were leading 1-2. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

The wind increased when Pierre Bocanegra made the kick off in the second half. In the 93rd minute, Brendan Payne ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Roberto Alston was frozen by the shot and now it was 1-3. Although FAIR PLAY MZ had been in control for most of the match, Irmo still came away with the win.
