Danial Vega received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 17th minute. Tião Galvão tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Rafael Valle took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Jorge Cote, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Terrance Agoos recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 40th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. If Terrance Agoos had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 46th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The USA players were disheartened as they walked off the pitch after the first half. Pollock Pines AFC were winning 0-1.

The wind increased when Scott Blue made the kick off in the second half. In the 59th minute Danial Vega shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Tião Galvão saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Scott Blue struck a weak shot in the 60th minute. Tião Galvão didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for USA. After some fancy dribbling in the 61st minute, Terrance Agoos managed to get in a good position for a shot. Pollock Pines AFC's supporters rose to their feet, but Terrance Agoos was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Rafael Valle breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. In the 63rd minute of the match, Jorge Cote got a very nice opportunity to score, but Rafael Valle was well-placed and pushed the ball away from the goal at the left post. 64 minutes into the game, USA's Scott Blue nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Tião Galvão made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 1-1. When Scott Blue came up free with the goalie in the 70th minute, the USA fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Scott Blue couldn't finish the play. Danial Vega sent away a hard shot on goal in the 71st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Danial Vega fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 73rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Tião Galvão having to interfere. In the 78th minute the ball was on its way in behind USA's goalkeeper Rafael Valle, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. The corner went over the outstretched arms of USA's goalie and right to Jorge Cote. He fired away a shot at goal, but the shot had too much spin, and it went just outside the goal. USA's manager breathed a sigh of relief on the sidelines as his team had managed to escape an almost certain goal. If Joe Schmitt had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 87th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Tião Galvão showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Jose Irizarry in the 93rd minute of the match. USA succeeded in salvaging a draw, even though Pollock Pines AFC had controlled the match.
