After a defensive mix-up in Georgia State's zone, Taylor Wiley stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Giovanni Doe came out of the goal and Taylor Wiley tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. In the 22nd minute Parker Baron shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Nikolas Papadamous saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Nikolas Papadamous showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Roosevelt Riggs, who was totally free with the ball in the 24th minute. Roosevelt Riggs scored 0-1 in the 24th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Nikolas Papadamous, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. 0-2 became the score in the 28th minute when 陆星镇 elegantly shot the ball into goal just under the crossbar. Jacksonville FC's Nikolas Papadamous played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Roosevelt Riggs in the 44th minute of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Shelton Brower in the 45th minute of play forced Jacksonville FC's goalkeeper Nikolas Papadamous to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. With 47 minutes on the clock, Vern Winslow commited a dangerous tackle. The referee had no choice but to show him the red card. 46 minutes into the game, one of Georgia State:s players got tackled near the goal, and the referee blew for a penalty. Georgia State:s Giovanni Doe showed great skill when he stopped Douglas Berg:s penalty. After the first half Georgia State were leading 0-3. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Taylor Wiley to strike the kick off in the second half. With an all-out effort, Georgia State's Nikolas Papadamous threw himself towards the right post 53 minutes into the match and grabbed hold of the ball from 陆星镇, which otherwise would have been placed in the net. After 53 played minutes Jacksonville FC got a freekick which was hit by Ray King. In the 55th minute of the match Parker Baron sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Nikolas Papadamous skillfully saved the ball. In the 58th minute there was a penalty for Jacksonville FC. Douglas Berg stepped forward and shot the ball to the right of a diving Giovanni Doe. 1-3. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Marshall Irving during the 62nd minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. In the 62nd match minute, Georgia State was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Marshall Irving to maneuver through the defense. Roosevelt Riggs received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 85th minute. Nikolas Papadamous tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere.
