Everald Savary struck a weak shot in the 15th minute. Dominic Jorsling didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Bamboo Village Stars. Dominic Jorsling tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 27th minute, Jean Tinto sent off a long shot on goal, but the shot was nowhere near the goal and Bamboo Village Stars's Mohammed Whitley didn't even have to move. Mohammed Whitley showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Cornelius Asher, who was totally free with the ball in the 31st minute. 33 minutes into the match, Sherwin Gopee-Scoon had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Dominic Jorsling. Brighton Stars's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Sherwin Gopee-Scoon was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 0-1. The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Cornelius Asher was the one to do the kick off. Mohammed Whitley made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Edgar Rampersad in the 52nd minute of play. After a defensive mix-up in Bamboo Village Stars's zone, Cornelius Asher stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Mohammed Whitley came out of the goal and Cornelius Asher tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. When Cornelius Asher fell near the penalty area in the 55th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Brighton Stars's protests and gave Cornelius Asher a yellow card for diving instead. Cornelius Asher hit a great freekick 55 minutes into the match. Carlyle Duke took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 58th minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Dominic Jorsling. Brighton Stars's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. In the 59th minute the ball was on its way in behind Brighton Stars's goalkeeper Dominic Jorsling, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Dominic Jorsling showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Sherwin Gopee-Scoon, who was totally free with the ball in the 62nd minute. Sherwin Gopee-Scoon sent away a hard shot on goal in the 65th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. If Everald Savary had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 71st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 73rd minute, Everald Savary got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Sherwin Gopee-Scoon sent away a hard shot on goal in the 75th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 83rd minute the ball was on its way in behind Bamboo Village Stars's goalkeeper Mohammed Whitley, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Bamboo Village Stars's Mohammed Whitley played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Cornelius Asher in the 84th minute of play. Edgar Rampersad recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 86th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. After a rather tough play, Bamboo Village Stars's Lionel Baptiste got a free kick in the 89th minute. After 92 minutes Bamboo Village Stars's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Jean Tinto who took care of the corner kick. A well-hit corner resulted in Seepersad Prospect heading the ball towards the goal, but to his dismay he misdirected it and missed the goal completely. The Bamboo Village Stars players were relieved to hear the final whistle blow to end the match. The away crowd was happy to see their team win after a very tight game.
