The audience thought a goal was coming when Philip Hochoy got free with Clyde Chambers in the 15th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. The audience was convinced that Standiford String Band's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Carlos Mahabir was relentless in the 16th minute of the game. After a rather tough play, Chaguanas Strikers's Edgar Mortimer Emrit got a free kick in the 19th minute. In the 44th minute the ball was on its way in behind Chaguanas Strikers's goalkeeper Clyde Chambers, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Tishan MacDonald hit a great freekick 46 minutes into the match. The supporters of Chaguanas Strikers booed when Mohammedville Falcons was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 48 match minutes in a wonderful position. Sanjiv Atwell didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 48th minute of the match Raffique Mannette sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Carlos Mahabir skillfully saved the ball. After a very even first half the match was still tied. The players went to their respective dressing rooms to discuss the tactics for the second half.

The wind increased when Standiford String Band made the kick off in the second half. Mohammedville Falcons's Carlos Mahabir proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 52nd minute of the match, managed to save Mohammedville Falcons from getting a goal against them. Standiford String Band's shot when he came free in front of the goal in the 54thth minute, Carlos Mahabir skillfully showed off with a save to what seemed to be an obvious goal. In the 55th minute, Raffique Mannette got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. In the 57th minute, Standiford String Band fired away a shot on goal. He put a little to much spin on the ball and sent it just wide of the right post. The supporters of Chaguanas Strikers booed when Mohammedville Falcons was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 57 match minutes in a wonderful position. Philip Hochoy didn't get a good kick on the ball. After 59 minutes of play, Chaguanas Strikers's Krishna Bednob made it 0-1 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Carlos Mahabir was left in no man's land by his defense there! Carlos Mahabir stood somewhat misplaced when Standiford String Band came free in front of goal and shot 0-2 to the left of him in the 64 minute. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Standiford String Band in the 70th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Carlos Mahabir prevented the ball from getting in the gole. After a defensive mix-up in Mohammedville Falcons's zone, Standiford String Band stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Carlos Mahabir came out of the goal and Standiford String Band tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Chaguanas Strikers's Standiford String Band got a good chance for a goal in the 74th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Clyde Chambers showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Tishan MacDonald in the 80th minute of the match. 82 minutes into the game, Bob Partap was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Chaguanas Strikers's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Mohammedville Falcons the free kick. After a rather tough play, Chaguanas Strikers's Bob Partap got a free kick in the 82nd minute. Standiford String Bands short, quick shot in the 85thth minute got Carlos Mahabir to make great effort and bar the ball away from getting in. In the 92nd minute, André Sinanan hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Standiford String Band might have been able to make a better finish in the 96th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Carlos Mahabir. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Standiford String Band ran back to his position shaking his head. Chaguanas Strikers's fans were overjoyed with their teams well-earned victory and stayed in the stadium long after the final whistle to celebrate the win.
