In the 10th minute of the match Arnoldo Viscon sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Erasto Bachicabo skillfully saved the ball. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Medero Dimas in the 17th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Erasto Bachicabo saved Colon FC from getting behind. Rosendo Niño showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Jabier Almarza, who was totally free with the ball in the 29th minute. An unexpectedly hard shot by Jabier Almarza in the 33rd minute of play forced Rivera AFC's goalkeeper Rosendo Niño to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. If Jabier Almarza had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 35th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The referee ignored Colon FC's protests and gave Raitin Gilavert a yellow card for diving instead. The supporters of Rivera AFC booed when Colon FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 69 match minutes in a wonderful position. Raitin Gilavert didn't get a good kick on the ball. The long shot by Erramun Llul in the 70th minute really tested Erasto Bachicabo's skills. The ball was on its way into the goal to the left of him when he managed to stretch himself and save the shot and avoid a goal. Rosendo Niño showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Cesaro Oger, who was totally free with the ball in the 80th minute. If Nicolas Astete had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 82nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Fortunato Aubert could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 84th minute of the match, but Erasto Bachicabo made a huge save. If Jabier Almarza had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 90th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead.
