Seating: 8, VIP seats: 0) The field was rather wet after several days of rain when Eude Espínola took the kick off in the first half of the match. 8 minutes into the match, Villa Rivas's goal looked a bit too open when Franco Romo came free, but Robinson Montañas reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Wandy Cañas hit a great freekick 20 minutes into the match. In the 23rd match minute, Villa Rivas was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Winston Iturralde to maneuver through the defense. After 26 minutes of play, Azua AD's Aldo Guerrero made it 1-0 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Robinson Montañas was left in no man's land by his defense there! Juan Oviedo fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 34th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Eriberto Santillán having to interfere. After a defensive mix-up in Azua AD's zone, Wandy Cañas stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Eriberto Santillán came out of the goal and Wandy Cañas tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Eude Espínola struck a weak shot in the 38th minute. Eriberto Santillán didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Villa Rivas. The audience thought a goal was coming when Aldo Guerrero got free with Robinson Montañas in the 41st minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 1-0 at half-time.
After a defensive mix-up in Azua AD's zone, Wandy Cañas stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Eriberto Santillán came out of the goal and Wandy Cañas tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. After 53 minutes, Aurelio Carreón mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Azua AD and the Villa Rivas players grew even worse after the yellow card. Franco Romo might have been able to make a better finish in the 66th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Robinson Montañas. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Franco Romo ran back to his position shaking his head. Robinson Montañas made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Aldo Guerrero in the 67th minute of play. Eriberto Santillán made an important save on a dangerous shot by Wandy Cañas in the 75th minute. Franco Romo fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 79th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Robinson Montañas having to interfere. Villa Rivas's Robinson Montañas played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Franco Romo in the 81st minute of play. In the 87th minute Aldo Guerrero shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Robinson Montañas saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Paolo Patterson struck a weak shot in the 89th minute. Eriberto Santillán didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Villa Rivas. The teams fought very hard right up to the final whistle. Both sets of players were happy to go away with a draw.
