But to his dismay, Arthur Valdivia quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 1-1. After some fancy dribbling in the 45th minute, Duaner Barreiro managed to get in a good position for a shot. Punta Cana's supporters rose to their feet, but Duaner Barreiro was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Alonso Pineda breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. After a very even first half the match was still tied. The players went to their respective dressing rooms to discuss the tactics for the second half.

52 minutes into the match, Banica AD's goal looked a bit too open when Duaner Barreiro came free, but Alonso Pineda reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. When Arthur Valdivia came up free with the goalie in the 81st minute, the Banica AD fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Arthur Valdivia couldn't finish the play. 83 minutes into the match, Matthew Mejía notched a goal, 1-2, to the right of Banica AD's Alonso Pineda. Alonso Pineda was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. An unexpected shot in the 93rd minute by Matthew Mejía got the crowd on their feet, but to their dismay it went out on the left side. The Banica AD supporters were disappointed that their team didn't take anything from the match, despite matching Punta Cana's performance. The match ended with a win for Punta Cana.
