After some fancy dribbling in the 4th minute, Lautaro Canellas managed to get in a good position for a shot. Fc Rome's supporters rose to their feet, but Lautaro Canellas was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Eugenio Espinal breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Guarana's Juan Carlos Estrada got a good chance for a goal in the 8th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. In the 10th minute Atilio Segovia shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Eliseo Arce saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Atilio Segovia might have been able to make a better finish in the 11th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Eliseo Arce. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Atilio Segovia ran back to his position shaking his head. In the 13th minute Jose Mejía shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Eliseo Arce saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Atilio Segovia sent away a hard shot on goal in the 20th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. In the 24th minute Gustavo Leal shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Eugenio Espinal saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After a rather tough play, Guarana's Juan Carlos Estrada got a free kick in the 25th minute. A collision led to Guarana getting a freekick after 26 minutes play. Flavio Cervantes hit a great ball. Florencio Calvo sent away a hard shot on goal in the 28th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. 30 minutes into the match, Guarana's goal looked a bit too open when Gustavo Leal came free, but Eugenio Espinal reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. If Atilio Segovia had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 33rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After having played for 41 minutes, Gustavo Leal managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Fc Rome's supporters crossed their fingers, but Gustavo Leal was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Eliseo Arce showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Atilio Segovia, who was totally free with the ball in the 44th minute. After 46 minutes, Casimiro Diaz mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Guarana and the Fc Rome players grew even worse after the yellow card. The supporters of Fc Rome booed when Guarana was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 46 match minutes in a wonderful position. Casimiro Diaz didn't get a good kick on the ball. The first half was very even, with the score at 0-0 when the whistle went for half-time. The players welcomed the break and quickly retired to the dressing rooms.
The wind increased when Jose Mejía made the kick off in the second half. Jose Mejía fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 54th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Eliseo Arce having to interfere. Gustavo Leal recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 76th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. The long shot by Melido Rosado in the 82nd minute really tested Eliseo Arce's skills. The ball was on its way into the goal to the left of him when he managed to stretch himself and save the shot and avoid a goal. In the 87th minute Jose Mejía shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Eliseo Arce saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Fc Rome's Eliseo Arce played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Jose Mejía in the 90th minute of play. Gustavo Leal might have been able to make a better finish in the 92nd minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Eugenio Espinal. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Gustavo Leal ran back to his position shaking his head. An unexpectedly hard shot by Jose Mejía in the 94th minute of play forced Fc Rome's goalkeeper Eliseo Arce to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After 95 minutes, Lautaro Canellas mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Fc Rome and the Guarana players grew even worse after the yellow card. After 95 played minutes Fc Rome got a freekick which was hit by Lautaro Canellas. Atilio Segovia fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 96th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Eliseo Arce having to interfere. Neither set of supporters seemed pleased with the draw, but both teams had played equally well today.
