Wandy Solano didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Delfines del Este F.C. The referee blew the whistle for a penalty in the 16th minute of the game. One of Delfines del Este F.C:s players had nearly got his shirt torn off by an opponent while getting free in front of PaSantes de la UASD:s goal. The crowd rose to their feet as Armando Montaño kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Ulises Estrada. That made the score 2-0 in the 23 minute of play. Ulises Estrada took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Armando Montaño, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 31st minute, Zachary Aiza hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Abel Pulido might have been able to make a better finish in the 40th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Wandy Solano. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Abel Pulido ran back to his position shaking his head. Wandy Solano took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Ramiro Patterson, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 43rd minute, Virgilio Austen hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 2-1 at half-time.

When Raúl Zárate came up free with the goalie in the 56th minute, the Delfines del Este F.C fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Raúl Zárate couldn't finish the play. Delfines del Este F.C's Abel Pulido got a good chance for a goal in the 57th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Wandy Solano made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Abel Pulido in the 61st minute of play. After some fancy dribbling in the 62nd minute, Ramiro Patterson managed to get in a good position for a shot. Delfines del Este F.C's supporters rose to their feet, but Ramiro Patterson was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Wandy Solano breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. After a rather tough play, PaSantes de la UASD's Evaristo Segovia got a free kick in the 65th minute. If Elio Venegas had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 73rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Ulises Estrada showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Bartolomeo Alkorta, who was totally free with the ball in the 80th minute. Ramiro Patterson received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 82nd minute. Wandy Solano tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 84th minute, Delfines del Este F.C's Abel Pulido dribbled the ball into the box and hit a shot with the outside of his foot, sending the keeper the wrong way. 3-2. An unexpectedly hard shot by Armando Montaño in the 92nd minute of play forced Delfines del Este F.C's goalkeeper Ulises Estrada to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 95 minutes into the match, Delfines del Este F.C's goal looked a bit too open when Armando Montaño came free, but Ulises Estrada reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. 96 minutes into the match, Armando Montaño had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Ulises Estrada. Delfines del Este F.C's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Armando Montaño was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 4-2. PaSantes de la UASD's fans were exulted and cheered after their team won in a match that could easily have gone the other way.
