Medjadi Chebal tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Mohamed Liegeon's late challenge caught a Amesbury FC's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Mohamed Liegeon helped the player get up and apologised. A collision led to Cookeville getting a freekick after 8 minutes play. Mohamed Liegeon hit a great ball. 9 minutes into the match, Rachid Baba Ali Boudiaf notched a goal, 0-1, to the right of Cookeville's Medjadi Chebal. Medjadi Chebal was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Rachid Baba Ali Boudiaf fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 13th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Medjadi Chebal having to interfere. In the 15th minute, Rachid Baba Ali Boudiaf got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Abdel Amara sent away a hard shot on goal in the 19th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. When Charles Saïdi-Sief fell near the penalty area in the 22nd minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Cookeville's protests and gave Charles Saïdi-Sief a yellow card for diving instead. A collision led to Cookeville getting a freekick after 22 minutes play. Charles Saïdi-Sief hit a great ball. In the 26th play minute Madjid Bouteflika came free and shot an unsuspected shot which went into goal from the right pole behind a surprised Amrani Gallaire. 1-1. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Mohamed Liegeon in the 37th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Amrani Gallaire prevented the ball from getting in the gole. If Madjid Bouteflika had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 41st minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Amesbury FC's Amrani Gallaire played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Mohamed Liegeon in the 42nd minute of play. After 43 minutes, Thelma Aziz mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Amesbury FC and the Cookeville players grew even worse after the yellow card. In the 44th match minute, Amesbury FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Thelma Aziz to maneuver through the defense. Amesbury FC's Rachid Baba Ali Boudiaf got a good chance for a goal in the 48th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar.

With a little luck, Cookeville's Medjadi Chebal got control of the ball when Rachid Baba Ali Boudiaf tried to sneak it across the goal line. An unexpectedly hard shot by Mohamed Liegeon in the 57th minute of play forced Amesbury FC's goalkeeper Amrani Gallaire to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Mohamed Liegeon fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 60th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Amrani Gallaire having to interfere. Charles Saïdi-Sief was astounded when the referee showed him the red card after a seemingly innocent challenge, 64 minutes into the match. The referee blew the whistle for a penalty in the 64th minute of the game. One of Cookeville:s players had nearly got his shirt torn off by an opponent while getting free in front of Amesbury FC:s goal. In the 66th minute there was a penalty for Amesbury FC. Slimane Hamdani stepped forward and shot the ball to the right of a diving Medjadi Chebal. 1-2. Rabah Gallaire charged in rather forcefully in the 76th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Rabah Gallaire the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. Rabah Gallaire hit a great freekick 76 minutes into the match. After some fancy dribbling in the 81st minute, Madjid Bouteflika managed to get in a good position for a shot. Cookeville's supporters rose to their feet, but Madjid Bouteflika was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Amrani Gallaire breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Abdel Amara might have been able to make a better finish in the 83rd minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Medjadi Chebal. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Abdel Amara ran back to his position shaking his head. Mohamed Nasri struck a weak shot in the 92nd minute. Amrani Gallaire didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Cookeville. The Amesbury FC supporters could be heard counting down the last seconds of the match. They errupted in celebration when the whistle blew, knowing Amesbury FC would go home with victory in their luggage after a match that easily could have ended differently.
