The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Jean-Baptiste Akrour kicked well hit freekick during the 5th minute of the match. With an all-out effort, Pitcairn's Mehdi Azem threw himself towards the right post 5 minutes into the match and grabbed hold of the ball from Hemza Ramdane, which otherwise would have been placed in the net. Nouara Zaaf received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 7th minute. Mehdi Azem tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. If Hemza Ramdane had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 9th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Nouara Zaaf fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 9th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Mehdi Azem having to interfere. Mahmoud Kaci Said's late challenge caught a Pitcairn's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Mahmoud Kaci Said helped the player get up and apologised. After 11 played minutes Blytheville got a freekick which was hit by Mahmoud Kaci Said. A collision led to Pitcairn getting a freekick after 16 minutes play. Abd el Amirouche hit a great ball. 19 minutes into the game, Blytheville's Khair ad-Din Mérah-Benida nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Mohamed Ben Sifi made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 0-1. Hemza Ramdane fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 27th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Mehdi Azem having to interfere. In the last second Mehdi Azem throw himself and got hold of the ball when Hemza Ramdane in the 30thth minute from his position got away a shot towards the right post. After having played for 35 minutes, Nouara Zaaf managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Pitcairn's supporters crossed their fingers, but Nouara Zaaf was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. If Hemza Ramdane had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 37th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Blytheville's goalkeeper couldn't reach when Hemza Ramdane 39 minutes into the game got a good kick on the ball which found its way into goal just inside left pole. 1-1. The supporters of Pitcairn booed when Blytheville was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 42 match minutes in a wonderful position. Chadli Mehenni didn't get a good kick on the ball. 44 minutes into the match, Blytheville's Guillaume Laurent Kouri sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Mohamed Ben Sifi narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Khair ad-Din Mérah-Benida sent away a hard shot on goal in the 47th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. The first half was very even, with the score at 1-1 when the whistle went for half-time. The players welcomed the break and quickly retired to the dressing rooms.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Hemza Ramdane was the one to do the kick off. Mehdi Azem showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Hemza Ramdane in the 52nd minute of the match. Mourad Cixous hit a great freekick 52 minutes into the match. After 54 played minutes Blytheville got a freekick which was hit by Khair ad-Din Mérah-Benida. The crowd rose to their feet as Blytheville's Khair ad-Din Mérah-Benida slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Mohamed Ben Sifi. That made the score 1-2 after 60 minutes of play. 1-3 became the score in the 65th minute when Khair ad-Din Mérah-Benida elegantly shot the ball into goal just under the crossbar. Khair ad-Din Mérah-Benida sent away a hard shot on goal in the 68th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. If Nouara Zaaf had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 72nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead.
