In the 46th minute of the match, Ali Khadra got a very nice opportunity to score, but Edmond Zidane was well-placed and pushed the ball away from the goal at the left post. The fans had the chance to grab some refreshments as the whistle went for half-time. The score stood at 0-0 after a close first half.

The supporters of Fort Atkinson booed when Lima FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 92 match minutes in a wonderful position. Abdelhamid Madjer didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 94th minute Cherif Zidān shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Rafik Hadjadj saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Fort Atkinson's supporters were dissatisfied at the end of the match because Lima FC had won, even though Fort Atkinson had held more of the ball.
