Larbi Matoub charged in rather forcefully in the 28th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Larbi Matoub the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. After a rather tough play, Hershey's Faouzi Cerbah got a free kick in the 30th minute. With a little luck, Hershey's Ali Djura got control of the ball when Kasdi Boulmerka tried to sneak it across the goal line. 39 minutes into the game, Hershey's Hamid Brahami nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Yacine Ihidjaten made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 0-1. In the 47th minute Kasdi Boulmerka shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Ali Djura saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Disappointed in the 0-1 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.

Yacine Ihidjaten made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Djamal Ghazi in the 52nd minute of play. In the 55th match minute, Hershey was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Abdelmalek Sahraoui to maneuver through the defense. 56 minutes into the match, Temple City's Nabil Saïdi-Sief broke free and took a long shot that unfortunately flew wide. A fine initiative that could have resulted in a goal. Kasdi Boulmerka blasted a shot towards the goal in the 58th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Ali Djura having to make a save. Temple City's Cherif Iles got a good chance for a goal in the 61st minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. After a defensive mix-up in Hershey's zone, Kasdi Boulmerka stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Ali Djura came out of the goal and Kasdi Boulmerka tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Kasdi Boulmerka sent away a hard shot on goal in the 74th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After 76 played minutes Hershey got a freekick which was hit by Faouzi Cerbah. After some fancy dribbling in the 81st minute, Djamal Ghazi managed to get in a good position for a shot. Hershey's supporters rose to their feet, but Djamal Ghazi was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Yacine Ihidjaten breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Hamid Brahami received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 84th minute. Yacine Ihidjaten tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 85th minute the ball was on its way in behind Temple City's goalkeeper Yacine Ihidjaten, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Abdelmalek Sahraoui kicked well hit freekick during the 89th minute of the match. In the 95th minute, Cherif Iles got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal.
